All Saints plan to save the world

March 7, 2019

Iceland welcomed a VIP visit to its Deeside head office today by the Eco Emeralds, a nine-strong team of pupils aged seven to 11, from All Saints Catholic Primary School in Anfield, Liverpool.

The children contacted Iceland in 2018 to share their work on palm oil and asked for an environmental challenge to solve. Managing Director Richard Walker asked them to how they would tackle the decline in the world’s bee population, sparking the idea for a new school project. They presented a range of ideas to him and colleagues in the Iceland Development Kitchen, showing films they had made at school.

Richard Walker said; “Meeting the Eco Emeralds was an inspiration. The fact that children are so committed to making the world a better place gives me real hope for  the future. Their ideas were terrific and we are looking seriously at how we can build them into future campaigns.”
