HRH tries the Reverse Vending Machine

During Iceland’s industry leading trial of in-store reverse vending machines, in support of the Government’s proposed Deposit Return Scheme, a machine was today showcased at the Waste to Wealth Summit.

Hosted by Business in the Community, the summit saw major brands sign the ‘Waste to Wealth’ commitment and share best practice models for ‘turning waste into wealth’ HRH The Prince of Wales launched the summit and trialled a reverse vending machine similar to those now installed in Iceland stores across England, Scotland and Wales.

The machines continue to engage thousands of customers in recycling and results will be shared at the end of the six month trial.
