Iceland releases Leave No Trace film: Plastic Mountain

Iceland has launched a short film entitled ‘Leave No Trace: Plastic Mountain’ to highlight the impact of plastics on the environment.

The film has been launched to coincide with the news that Iceland will partner with marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) on a major new partnership, announced at the famous Kendal Mountain Film Festival.

Building on the success of SAS’s award-winning ‘Plastic-Free Communities’ initiative, the new partnership will further galvanize individuals, small businesses, local government, schools and community groups to take action to reduce their collective single-use plastic footprint and reduce their impact on the local environment.

Made by two young filmmakers in Iceland’s creative team, the film shows  Managing Director Richard Walker and mountaineer and explorer Kenton Cool in Snowdonia, exploring the impact of plastics on our countryside and outdoor landscapes. Using aerial footage to show the natural beauty on the company’s doorstep in north Wales, Richard and Kenton discuss how the outdoor community is leading the movement to reduce our environmental footprint.
