Iceland donates 15,000 paper bags to community groups

July 20, 2020

Iceland has donated 15,000 paper bags to community groups in South Wales helping families through the Covid-19 crisis. The supermarket was put in touch with the organisations via Business in the Community’s National Business Response Network.

Tonyrefail Packed Lunch Cluster was set up to deliver packed lunches to the most vulnerable families in the Tonyrefail and surrounding areas of the Rhondda in South Wales.

Cwmparc Community Association will be offering targeted provision at their youth and play centre during the school holidays and the bags will be used to hold craft packs which will be given to each child in the scheme.

The bags will also be put to good use at Canolfan Pentre, where they will be used for welfare packs and food parcels for people in the community.
